If you ever tried to change the default sound scheme in Windows 7, you must have noticed that Windows 7 ships with a bunch of good sound schemes. And users who don’t like the any of the sound scheme present in Windows 7 or a particular event sound can easily change with a custom one.
For instance, if you like the default logon sound and want to use your favorite audio file as logon sound instead, you can do so without the help of third-party tools. In my system, this is one of the first items that I change after installing Windows 7 or any other versions of Windows as I don’t find the default set of sound schemes exciting.
Please note that the audio file that you would like to use as system sound should be in the WAV format. That said, if you have an MP3 file, we suggest you use some free audio converting tools such as Free Studio Manager for the job.

Step 2: Click on the link named Sounds at the bottom of the window.
Step 3: Next, select a sound event from the list and then hit the Browse button. Note that you need to have your customized new sound file in .wav format.
Step 4: Select your desired .wav soundtrack and click Open and then click Apply.
