Battery Icon Not Showing In Windows 10 Taskbar

With default installation settings, Windows 10 shows a battery icon on its taskbar in the system tray area. The battery icon is handy for knowing the remaining battery life and if the battery is getting charged or discharged.

A click on the battery icon brings up the battery flyout showing the percent of the remaining battery life, time remaining before the device sleeps/hibernates/shuts down, and an option to turn on or off the Battery saver feature.

If the battery icon is missing from the Windows 10 taskbar, please try the troubleshooting tips given below.

Check if the battery icon is hidden

Windows 10 lets you hide icons in the system tray area. To check if the battery icon is hidden, click on the small up arrow icon next to the tray area. If the battery icon is present here, drag and drop it to the system tray area.

Restore Windows 10 to a previous date

If the battery icon appeared on the taskbar just a few days or weeks back, you can use the system restore feature to get the battery icon back. However, remember that you need a previously created system restore point, which must have been created when the battery icon appeared on the taskbar.

Refer to our how-to restore Windows 10 to an earlier date guide for step-by-step directions.
